Marketing tactics we refuse to use on you.
Our whole business is being the honest one in a category that has lost the plot. So here, in writing, are the sales and marketing tactics the rest of the industry runs by default — and that Argos will not use on you. Bookmark it. Hold us to it. If we ever break one, tell us.
✗ No fake urgency
No countdown timers, no “only 3 seats left,” no “price goes up Friday” invented to rush you.
Instead — when we give you a deadline, it’s a real one: an actual cohort date or onboarding window, not a pressure tactic.
✗ No manufactured fear
We’re a security company. It would be easy to scare you into buying. We won’t. No “you’ll get breached without us,” no invented threat that only we can save you from.
Instead — every risk we show you is a real, checkable one you can verify against your own environment.
✗ No lock-in, no auto-renew traps
No multi-year contract that quietly auto-renews. No exit penalty. No holding your data hostage to keep you paying.
Instead — annual plans expire and you choose to renew. Leave any day and take your data with you in open formats. You own your stack.
✗ No permanent quote wall
No “request a quote” maze as a permanent gate just to learn what it costs. No mystery per-feature taxes that appear on the invoice later.
Instead — transparent pricing is one of our founding pledges. When we open, the number goes on the website — per technician, with what’s included stated plainly.
✗ No fake reviews or astroturf
No sockpuppet reviews, no paid-for praise dressed up as neutral, no gaming the “best MSP platform” lists with claims we can’t stand behind.
Instead — when we quote a customer, it’s real, attributable, and said with their permission. Until we’ve earned reviews honestly, we won’t manufacture them.
✗ No rigged comparisons
No cherry-picked matrix where every row happens to favor us. No smearing a competitor with a scare that isn’t true.
Instead — when we compare Argos to another tool, we state their real strengths and source every claim. We’d rather lose you honestly than win you with a distortion.
✗ No dark patterns
No crippled bait tier, no pre-checked upsells, no buried unsubscribe, no “cancel only by calling during business hours.”
Instead — what you can do, you can undo. One click to unsubscribe. Cancellation terms stated up front, in plain language.
✗ No spam, no fake personalization
No daily drip whether we have anything to say or not. No “I loved your recent post” when nobody read it.
Instead — we email you when we genuinely have something useful. If we reach out personally, it’s because we actually did the homework.
✗ No dressing up what isn’t finished
No pretending a v1 is a v3. No demo of an empty product. No “AI does it all” when a human is in the loop.
Instead — we publish what’s still rough and what’s on the roadmap. “Rough” only ever means polish or breadth — never your security, your data, or a capability we claim.
Because in a market drowning in hype, the honest list is the differentiator.
Every vendor says “we’re different.” Few will put their refusals in writing and invite you to hold them to it. We just did.
